Henry Cavill Sports Black Superman Suit In Incredible ‘Justice League’ Image

Henry Cavill Superman Justice League

Henry Cavill dons the iconic black Superman suit in this awesome artwork inspired by the first live-action Justice League movie.

After Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel sacrificed his life to defeat Doomsday in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman, fans hoped to see the DC Comics icon return in Justice League with the iconic black costume from the comics. Unfortunately for those fans, the black Superman suit was not featured in the theatrical cut of Justice League and only made a brief appearance in a deleted scene featuring Henry Cavill.

As a result, fans have taken it upon themselves to create Justice League artwork that imagines what Henry Cavill’s Superman could have looked like with the black costume. The latest piece comes from Instagram user “ryans.reviews,” who created an image of Henry Cavill’s Superman in the black costume while he seemingly prepares to fire off his heat vision.

Henry Cavill’s future as Superman is still uncertain. Henry Cavill exited negotiations to return as Superman for a cameo in the Shazam! movie last year. Shazam! still managed to feature his version of Superman but was not able to show his head in the frame of his shots as Henry Cavill still had yet to work out a deal with Warner Bros. and DC Films. Rumors have also swirled suggesting that Warner Bros. will be focusing on Supergirl in the DCEU going forward instead of Superman. 22 Jump Street writer Oren Uziel is writing the script for the Supergirl film which will be an origin story for Superman’s cousin Kara Zor-El.

Henry Cavill can be seen as Superman in Man of SteelBatman v Superman and Justice League. After Netflix’s The Witcher, Henry Cavill will star in Enola Holmes opposite Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown.

Here is the official synopsis for Justice League:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.

Justice League is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned for the latest news on Henry Cavill, Superman and the future of the DC Extended Universe!
