Justice League actor Henry Cavill puts on the classic Superman suit in a brand new concept design that gives fans the best of both worlds.
While it isn’t clear whether Henry Cavill will return to the red and blue suit again after his last Superman performance in Justice League, a new concept imagines the star suiting up in Christopher Reeve’s classic suit from the 1978 Superman movie. Henry Cavill’s Superman costume is notably different from previous live-action versions of the suit, with a detailed texture. But the Justice League star gets a new look in this concept design.
The concept from Jakub Maslowski imagines Justice League actor Henry Cavill wearing the Christopher Reeve costume set against a destructive backdrop. The colors of the suit work perfectly for Henry Cavill, proving once again that he was a great pick for the Superman role. The artist simply describes his new concept of the Justice League actor as “Classic Superman.”

Henry Cavill’s future as Superman is currently uncertain amid reports on contentious contract negotiations and Warner Bros. and DC planning to focus their efforts on introducing Supergirl to the DCEU. Henry Cavill’s planned Superman cameo in Zachary Levi’s Shazam! movie was cut after negotiations to reprise his role fell through, though the actor has expressed his interest in returning to the role if asked.
While Warner Bros. does not appear to have plans for more DCEU movies with Henry Cavill as Superman, Brandon Routh is set to appear as the Kingdom Come version of Superman in the Arrowverse crossover event Crisis on Infinite Earths on The CW. Brandon Routh will be joined by Supergirl‘s Superman Tyler Hoechlin and Smallville‘s Superman Brandon Routh.
