New ‘Justice League’ BTS Photo Reveals Another Look At Henry Cavill’s Infamous Superman Mustache

Yet another behind-the-scenes photo of Henry Cavill’s Superman mustache from Justice League has surfaced online.

At this point, few need to be reminded of the extensive changes that were made to the Justice League movie after Zack Snyder exited the project and Joss Whedon assumed directorial duties for its reshoots. Perhaps the most infamous of these changes was the CGI work done on Henry Cavill’s Superman to digitally remove the mustache the British actor grew for his role in Mission: Impossible – Fallout, which Paramount reportedly refused to let him shave off for the additional photography on Justice League.

A new behind-the-scenes Justice League photo offers fans a chance to compare how Henry Cavill’s Superman would have looked like had they opted to keep the actor’s facial hair. The photograph appears to have been taken during the post-credits Justice League scene in which Henry Cavill’s Superman and The Flash race to see who is truly the Fastest Man Alive.

Henry Cavill’s future as Superman is currently in doubt amid reports on contentious contract negotiations and Warner Bros. and DC planning to focus their efforts on introducing Supergirl. While his planned Superman cameo in Zachary Levi’s Shazam! movie was cut after negotiations to reprise his role fell through, Henry Cavill has expressed his interest in returning to the role if asked.

Henry Cavill was last seen as Superman in Justice League. Here is the official synopsis for the movie:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.

Justice League is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Henry Cavill, Superman and the future of the DC Extended Universe.
