Justice League star Henry Cavill dons a New 52-inspired Superman suit in a new piece of fan art.
When Henry Cavill made his debut as Superman in Man of Steel, the British actor donned an outfit that was fairly faithful to the comic books even if it was slightly darker than most versions. However, while Superman has worn multiple variations of his costume in previous incarnations, Henry Cavill’s take on the Last Son of Krypton wore the same outfit in his two subsequent DC Extended Universe films.
Fortunately, fans have taken it upon themselves to create artwork that imagines what Henry Cavill might look like in different Superman suits. The latest piece, created by digital artist Hasan Kazi, depicts Henry Cavill’s Superman in the New 52 costume while posing in an area that seems to be home to the Fortress of Solitude.
Here’s what Henry Cavill could look like with the New 52 Superman suit.
Henry Cavill’s future as Superman is currently in question amid reports on contentious contract negotiations and Warner Bros. plans to focus their efforts on introducing Supergirl to the DC Extended Universe. While Henry Cavill’s planned Superman cameo in Shazam! was cut after negotiations to reprise his role fell through, the actor has expressed his interest in returning to the role if asked.
Henry Cavill most recently portrayed Superman in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Here’s the official synopsis for the movie:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
Justice League is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned for the latest news on Henry Cavill and Superman’s future on the big screen.
