While promoting his upcoming debut in the Mission Impossible franchise actor Henry Cavill was asked who he wants to take on the next time he suits up as Superman.

Warner Brothers and Henry Cavill are both interested in getting a Man of Steel sequel up and running and the actor playing the titular character has his sights on going head-to-head with one of the heroe’s most powerful enemies, Brainiac. Brainiac is the collector of worlds and possesses more knowledge then any being in the universe. In the past, Brainiac has wanted to add the Last Son of Krypton to his collection, putting Earth in danger. Cavill recently sat down with Fandom to promote Mission: Impossible – Fallout and he mentioned that he believes that Brainiac is a worthy adversary for the Man of Steel.

“I think a great villain would be Brainiac, that’d be a good villain to playagainst. Brainiac’s a big threat. There’s a lot of fun. There’s a lot of storylines to him.”

The popular DC Coics villain has been featured recently in the SyFy series Krypton in which his motivation was to add Krypton to his collection before the birth of Superman. The series was successful and landed a second season renewal so fans are definitely ready for the character to get the big screen treatment and enter the DC Extended Universe. Some may argue Brainiac, like Marvel’s Ultron, may be a better-suited villain for the entire Justice League, but it is probably a good idea that Warner Brothers just focus on solo features for the time being.

Either way, Brainiac is a great choice to have to take on Superman when his sequel gets made. Until then, fans can see Henry Cavill in Mission: Impossible – Fallout on July 27th and can relive all of his heroic moments from Justice League.

Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ray Fisher, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Amber Heard, Jeremy Irons, J.K. Simmons, Connie Nielsen, Joe Manganiello, Julian Lewis Jones and Ciarán Hinds.

Justice League is currently available on 4K, Blu-Ray, Digital HD and DVD.
