Henry Cavill has taken to Instagram to share a new workout photo alongside his statue of Superman, showing off his pride to have taken on the role in the DC cinematic universe.

The Superman actor is currently filming The Witcher series for Netflix but fans are still hopeful for his return as Superman even after Ben Affleck’s exit from the role of Batman earlier this week. Henry Cavill dropped out of negotiations to reprise his role last year after the Warner Bros. failed to reach an agreement with the actor that would have seen him reprise his role Superman role for a two-line cameo in the next installment of the DCEU, Shazam!.

Henry Cavill shared the post along with the caption “I don’t always workout, but when I do, I workout with Superman.” You can check it out below.

Although the actor has no plans to return as Superman any time soon, Warner Bros. is moving forward without him on a standalone Supergirl film, which Oren Uziel (22 Jump Street) is developing for the studio as an origin story for Superman’s cousin Kara Zor El. Michael B. Jordan has also been rumored to be the favorite for the studio to take on the role after Cavill.

Following Aquaman, which is now playing, the DCEU continues in April with Shazam! on April 5, 2019, which will be followed by Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on February 7, 2020, and Wonder Woman 1984 on June 5, 2020. A standalone Joker film set outside of the DC Films universe starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime is also set to hit theaters October 4, 2019.

Henry Cavill can be as Superman in Man of SteelBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.

From Warner Bros. Pictures and director, James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.
