A new report suggests that Henry Cavill is paid quite handsomely for his role as Geralt in Netflix’s The Witcher.

The Witcher is one of the biggest shows in the world, drawing in millions of fans with its dark, but grounded take on the fantasy genre. It also helps that the series stems from one of the most popular video game and literary franchises of all time. With that in mind, it’s no surprise to hear that Henry Cavill is making the big bucks as Geralt of Rivia.

Variety reports that Henry Cavill makes a whopping $400,000 per episode for Netflix’s The Witcher. It’s unclear if that was the rate for his first season on the show, his second, or if it’s for both. Regardless, that’s a solid, steady paycheque for the British star. When compared to other stars, Cavill is getting the short end of the stick, as the outlet reports that Pedro Pascal will be getting a cool $600,000 for each The Last of Us episode. Chris Pratt, who will star in Antoine Fuqua’s limited series Terminal List is receiving a gobsmacking $1.5 million per episode.

Expectations are through the roof for The Witcher‘s sophomore season, which is set to premiere this winter. The first season received mixed to positive reviews from critics but was absolutely adored by fans, who showed up in droves to watch it, making it one of the most popular debuts in 2019.

Here is the plot synopsis for the second season of Henry Cavill’s The Witcher:

Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.

Season 2 of Henry Cavill’s The Witcher will premiere on December 17th on Netflix. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the upcoming season and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content!
