Netflix Teases New Henry Cavill’s ‘The Witcher’ Content For Geeked Week

The Witcher Henry Cavill Geralt Netflix

Netflix hinted that we may see some new content for Henry Cavill’s The Witcher.

Production on season 2 of The Witcher wrapped in April after being delayed due to the pandemic, and fans are eager to see what comes next for Henry Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia. The first season of The Witcher ended with Geralt finding Ciri (Freya Allan) after her momentous journey across the Continent, and it appears that we will finally see the highly-anticipated second season within the fourth quarter of this year.

Fans excited for a sneak peek at season 2 are potentially in luck. On the official Twitter account for the series, it was announced that The Witcher will have a presence as part of Netflix’s Geeked Week on Friday June 11. You can see the tweet from the official account down below:

The tweet teases that fans are invited to return to the world of The Witcher this week, and although this doesn’t necessarily confirm that new footage or an official release date will be revealed, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Netflix begin marketing for the second season of Henry Cavill’s fantasy series a good few months in advance. Here’s hoping we see something exciting for the highly-anticipated new season.

Here is the official synopsis for the first season of Netflix’s The Witcher:

“Based on the best-selling fantasy series, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.”

The Witcher stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Freya Allan as Ciri, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Jodhi May as Queen Calanthe, Bjorn Hlynur Haraldsson as Eist, Adam Levy as Mousesack, MyAnna Buring as Aretuza, and Millie Brady as Princess Renfri, with Mimi Ndiweni and Therica Wilson-Read as novice sorcerers.
