A new behind-the-scenes photo from Shazam! shows Henry Cavill’s Superman replacement with Zachary Levi.
There has been a lot of controversy behind Henry Cavill and his future as Superman. The controversy heated up when the British actor entered contract negotiations to reprise his role as Superman for a brief cameo appearance at the end of Zachary Levi’s first cinematic solo outing as Shazam. The negotiations eventually fell through and the Shazam! team had to figure out a way to work around Henry Cavill’s absence by showing Superman without a face for his brief cameo.
Now, a new behind-the-scenes photo from Shazam! has surfaced online, giving fans a first look at the stand-in who replaced Henry Cavill as Superman for the cameo. In the photo, Henry Cavill’s Superman stand-in can be seen suited up in the Man of Steel’s costume, standing alongside Shazam! star Zachary Levi.

Henry Cavill’s future as Superman has been in doubt for months now amid reports on contentious contract negotiations and Warner Bros. and DC’s plans to focus their efforts on introducing Supergirl to the DC Extended Universe. On the other hand, Zachary Levi is set to reprise his role for a Shazam! sequel written by Henry Gayden, with David F. Sandberg expected to return to the director’s chair.
