A new look at the House of the Dragon season one finale is here.

HBO has released a promotional video for the season one finale of its hit Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon. The sneak peek is packed with never-before-seen footage from the finale and teases a showdown between Aemond Targaryen’s Vhagar and Lucerys Velaryon’s Arrax, kicking off the long-awaited Dance of the Dragons. Check out the promo below.

The House of Dragon promo includes fresh footage of Rhaenyra Targaryen and her husband Daemon, as well as a glimpse of Alicent Hightower. “Dreams didn’t make us kings – Dragons did,” Daemon says during the brief sneak peek.

Expect more from Daemon and Rhaenyra

House of the Dragon writer and executive producer Sara Hess recently opened up about the finale to The Hollywood Reporter, teasing that fans should expect more insight into the relationship between the Targaryens of “Team Black” in future episodes.

“We will see a different side of [Daemon],” Hess said of the finale. “And right now, we’re writing season two and figuring out, what is the nature of his relationship with Rhaenyra? There are many interpretations [in George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood] to that.”

Here is the synopsis for House of the Dragon:

Based on George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood, the series will tell the story of House Targaryen (a.k.a. the House that gave us the Mother of Dragons herself, Daenerys Targaryen) and take place 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones.

Miguel Sapochnik and Ryan J. Condal served as co-showrunners on House of the Dragon season one. They also executive produced the season alongside George R. R. Martin. The series features a star-studded cast that includes Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Paddy Considine, Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best and Sonoya Mizuno.

New episodes of House Of The Dragon premiere on HBO and HBO Max every Sunday. Stay tuned for the latest news from the world of Game of Thrones and be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
