Game of Thrones returns on Sunday!

House of the Dragon Game of Thrones

House of the Dragon has an official Rotten Tomatoes score as reviews for the Game of Thrones prequel come in.

The final season of Game of Thrones left a bad taste in a lot of viewers’ mouths, but that’s not stopping HBO from expanding the franchise. House of the Dragon looks to keep the Game of Thrones series going with a story set hundreds of years before A Song of Ice and Fire.

Is House Of The Dragon A Worthy Successor?

House of the Dragon will premiere on HBO this Sunday, and the first reviews for the series arrived on Friday. The general consensus so far appears to be positive, with critics suggesting House of the Dragon is a return to form and in the vein of the earlier Game of Thrones seasons.

Along with the first reviews for House of the Dragon comes the Rotten Tomatoes score for the series. At the moment, House of the Dragon is holding an 81% Tomatometer score with 257 reviews.

Here is the synopsis for the Game of Thrones spin-off series:

Based on George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood, the series will tell the story of House Targaryen (a.k.a. the House that gave us the Mother of Dragons herself, Daenerys Targaryen) and take place 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones.

Miguel Sapochnik and Ryan J. Condal serve as co-showrunners on House of the Dragon and are executive producing alongside George R. R. Martin. The series features a star-studded cast that includes Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Paddy Considine, Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, and Sonoya Mizuno.

House Of The Dragon will premiere on HBO on August 22nd. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming Game of Thrones shows, and subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
