New ‘House Of The Dragon’ Trailer Teases The First Queen On The Iron Throne

The Dance of the Dragons is about to begin!

HBO House of the Dragon

A new trailer for HBO Max’s Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon teases Rhaenyra Targaryen’s ascent to the Iron Throne.

House of the Dragon marks HBO’s first return to the world of Game of Thrones since the original series concluded in 2019. The series takes place around 170 years before the first season of Game of Thrones.

House of the Dragon will chronicle the events of the Dance of the Dragons, a civil war within House Targaryen at a time when the Targaryens still ruled Westeros.

Heirs To The Iron Throne

The central conflict of House of the Dragon arises from a dispute between King Viserys I Targaryen’s daughter, Rhaenyra, and his brother, Daemon. Both consider themselves heir to the Iron Throne upon Viserys’ death.

The new trailer teases the trials that lay before Rhaenyra as she attempts to take the throne as the first woman to do so. The trailer also offers looks at a scorned Daemon Targaryen and the family’s powerful dragons.
