It’s a cliche at this point to say that life moves pretty fast, but the fact that Brad Bird’s The Incredibles was released 12 years ago is beyond me. Pixar’s sixth film is not only one of their greatest of all-time, but it’s also one of the greatest superhero films of all-time, period. Many would even argue that it’s also the best Fantastic Four movie we’ve had.
One of the most welcome surprises of the year was the shifting of release dates for the much-anticipated sequel and Toy Story 4. Incredibles 2 was originally set for a 2019 release, but thanks to the film being further along in production, we will be reuniting with the family a year earlier. In fact, what’s most exciting is that voice recording sessions are underway. On his official Instagram, Samuel L. Jackson (Frozone) revealed that he is recording for the upcoming film.

It’ll be nearly 14 years since the first film once this sequel gets released. Right now, story details are heavily under-wraps, but if you were to ask me – I hope that Bird and company follow a Toy Story-esque time jump and we see the Parr family over a decade after their battle with the Underminer. Can you imagine what Jack-Jack’s been up to since then? Well, we’ll find out when The Incredibles 2 opens in theaters on June 15, 2018.
