If you saw the first Incredibles movie then you have to love the infamous scene with Frozone’s wife, Honey. The line “Woman, where is my super suit?!” is a battle cry sung by many fans across the globe. The star of that scene, though, is Honey, but we never actually get to see her. While at Pixar, The Incredibles director Brad Bird discussed the idea of giving Honey a body to match the voice, and it looks like we almost had that, but we’re ultimately going to have to wait a bit longer.
When asked about the inclusion of more people of color, Bird brought up the idea of giving Honey a face:
“She’s funnier as a voice. We actually went through all the trouble of designing a character and the design appears in the movie but not as Frozone’s wife. We have used her design and she is a hero but there’s not a lot of screen time though.”
Full details on the plot for The Incredibles 2 are being kept under wraps. The upcoming Disney/Pixar film is said to center on Elastigirl’s own adventure while Bob stays at home to watch over Jack-Jack, picking up immediately after the first film as the Parr family faces off against a supervillain known as The Underminer.
The Incredibles 2 is set for a June 15, 2018 release date. The film’s official synopsis is as follows:
“In The Incredibles 2, Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is called on to lead a campaign to bring Supers back, while Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) navigates the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell), Dash (voice of Huck Milner) and baby Jack-Jack—whose superpowers are about to be discovered. Their mission is derailed, however, when a new villain emerges with a brilliant and dangerous plot that threatens everything. But the Parrs don’t shy away from a challenge, especially with Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) by their side. That’s what makes this family so Incredible.”
The film features the voice talents of Holly Hunter as Helen Parr/Elastigirl, Craig T. Nelson as Bob Parr/Mr. Incredible, Sarah Vowell as Violet Parr, Huck Milner as Dashiell “Dash” Robert Parr, Samuel L. Jackson as Lucius Best/Frozone, Brad Bird as Edna Mode, Bob Odenkirk as Winston Deavor, Catherine Keener as Evelyn Deavor, Sophia Bush as Voy, Jonathan Banks as Rick Dicker, Isabella Rosellini as The Ambassador and John Ratzenberger as The Underminer.
