‘Indiana Jones 5’ Is Still In Thinking Stages, Says Producer

There will be a fifth Indiana Jones movie. A release date has been set, with Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg confirmed to return.

Indiana Jones 5 Harrison Ford

There will be a fifth Indiana Jones movie. A release date for July 19, 2019 (mark your calendars) has been set and it’s been confirmed that Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg will both be returning to the franchise. But since it seems like 2019 is so long from now, has any of the pre-production process begun? Not really, claims producer Frank Marshall.

“That’s still in the thinking stages. I don’t know, because that’s one I’m not involved in until they come up with the idea and the plan of where they want to go, then I get involved.”

But will Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen) be returning for the fifth installment?

“I don’t know, because that’s one I’m not involved in until they come up with the idea and the plan of where they want to go, then I get involved.”

It’d be sad if they didn’t find a way to include Marion. After all, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull ended with Indiana Jones marrying his long-time love. Having her not be a part of the film would be a bit strange.

It’s not really clear how much of a say Marshall has in the process, but as the date of release draws closer, we’ll find out more details on plot and casting.
