‘Inhumans’ Star Anson Mount Talks Marvel Studios Reboot Rumors

Inhumans Anson Mount Marvel Studios

Inhumans star Anson Mount addressed the rumors of a Marvel Studios reboot for characters.

In 2017, Marvel Television introduced the Inhumans to the MCU with a new ABC series that starred Anson Mount as Black Bolt. Unfortunately, the Anson Mount series was panned by viewers and low ratings prompted the network to cancel Inhumans the following year after just one season.

However, a recent rumor suggested Marvel Studios was planning to reboot the Inhumans and recast the characters. During a panel at Dallas Fan Days, Anson Mount addressed the Inhumans reboot rumors and the possibility of being replaced as Black Bolt:

“People might not know this, but in the sort of Hollywood trades, there’s rumored to be a negotiation going on with Disney+ to reattempt this. And apparently… it’s well-known that Vin [Diesel] has always wanted to play Black Bolt, so there’s some kind of negotiations going on.”

Anson Mount also revealed that he hopes the Inhumans get a second chance, despite the possibility of losing the role of Black Bolt to another actor. Anson Mount elaborated by explaining that he believes Inhumans could work with the right overall vision:

“I really want there to be another shot at the Inhumans, and I want it to be successful because I’d love to watch it. And I think it is the most interesting little corner of the Marvel universe, and I think it just has to be done — it has to have the right home, the right tone, and the right vision overall.”
