The international trailer for Sonic The Hedgehog revealed Baby Sonic, becoming an instant hit with fans.

Move over Baby Yoda, Baby Sonic just arrived in the international trailer for Sonic The Hedgehog. The new footage arrived courtesy of director Jeff Fowler on Twitter. With Sonic The Hedgehog‘s release date fast approaching, the international trailer aims to get fans even more excited for the film by showcasing its hidden weapon: Baby Sonic. While the internet has recently fallen in love with Star Wars‘ Baby Yoda and Babu Frik, Baby Sonic is a late contender for cutest character of the year.

Director Jeff Fowler unveiled the international trailer for Sonic The Hedgehog on Twitter, which starts off by briefly introducing Baby Sonic. The footage shows Baby Sonic racing around his island home which will no doubt be recognizable to long-time Sonic The Hedgehog fans. It then moves onto footage from previous trailers including meeting James Marsden’s Tom and facing off against Jim Carrey’s Dr. Robotnik. Here is the official synopsis for the Sonic the Hedgehog:

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster video game franchise from Sega that centres on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination.

Directed by Jeff Fowler from a script written by Patrick Casey, Josh Miller, and Oren Uziel, Sonic the Hedgehog features the voice talent of Ben Schwartz as the titular character and stars James Marsden as sheriff Tom Wachowski, Jim Carrey as Dr. Ivo Robotnik, Neal McDonough as US Army Major Bennington, Tika Sumpter as Mrs. Wachowski, Lee Majdoub as Stone, and Frank C. Turner as Crazy Carl. Adam Pally, Natasha Rothwell, Debs Howard, and Elfina Luk also star in undisclosed roles.

Sonic the Hedgehog is scheduled to be released in theaters on February 14, 2020.
