‘Iron Fist’ Star Tom Pelphrey Reveals Unused Season Three Plans

Iron Fist Tom Pelphrey

Iron Fist star Tom Pelphrey has revealed what the plans for the show’s third season were and won’t rule out a return to the show if it was revived.

Iron Fist was by far the least well-received of the Marvel Netflix shows. Criticisms ranged from the sluggish plot to Finn Jones’ portrayal of Danny Rand and while the second season was overall better received its cancellation didn’t receive the same outcry as the axing of Daredevil and Luke Cage. As it turned out, however, the people behind the show still had plans for a third season, which star Tom Pelphrey recently revealed.

In Iron Fist, Tom Pelphrey played Ward Meachum, who at first was one of the show’s main antagonists before becoming his ally and friend towards the end of the first season and throughout season two. During a recent interview with Comicbook.com, Tom Pelphrey revealed what the people behind Iron Fist had planned for the show’s third season and compared to the likes of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid:

“There was some talk about what it would look like for Danny and Ward to be going to Asia together. There was talk of almost like a … well, I think I can say this now … but like a kind of like a Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid kind of comradery, bonding.”

He went on to say that he wouldn’t rule out returning to the role of Meachum if circumstances were right:

“Yeah, I don’t know. I would never say never to pretty much anything. It would all depend on the circumstances and the timing and the people involved.”
