When the second trailer for the highly anticipated DC Comics film, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, was released, we discovered that Doomsday would be making his debut on the big screen. For those who have seen that trailer, knows by now how Doomsday will be created through Lex Luthor in this interpretation of the character in the DC Extended Universe.
Earlier today, voice actor Robin Atkin Downes (The Strain, Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H., Star Wars: The Clone Wars) tweeted out something quite interesting regarding Doomsday in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. In his tweet, he reveals that he helped bring Doomsday to life in the new movie. His tweet didn’t specify whether he only provided the voice for Doomsday or if he actually played him through motion-capture suit.
Although due to his extended body of work as a voice actor, including many Batman properties like Batman: Bad Blood, Batman: Arkham Knight, Batman vs Robin, Beware the Batman and many more, it wouldn’t be surprising if he was only providing the voice for him. But there is always the chance that he physically played the character too.
Very proud to release that I helped bring #Doomsday to life in the upcoming @BatmanvSuperman #Dreamgigs

“Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.“
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice comes out in theaters on March 25.
