Insecure star Issa Rae is set to play Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman, in the upcoming sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
As expected, the next Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse film will introduce even more versions of the wall-crawler. It’s safe to assume Oscar Isaac will be back as Miguel O’Hara, and we now know of another who will join the Spider-Verse. Word from The Hollywood Reporter is that Issa Rae will play Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman, in the upcoming sequel.
Issa Rae is best known for creating and starring in HBO’s Insecure and will join the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel that recently announced Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson as directors. A live-action Spider-Woman film is also in the works at Sony with Olivia Wilde on board to direct.
