J.K. Simmons Comments On Petition For Him To Reprise J. Jonah Jameson Role In The MCU

Entertainment Tonight recently caught up with actor J.K. Simmons and once again the topic of potentially reprising his role as J. Jonah Jameson in Sony & Marvel Studios upcoming reboot of the Spider-Man series came up. Specifically, the Academy Award winning actor was asked about a recent petition launched by fans in an attempt to “secure” the role for the actor in the MCU.

That petition does not come from anybody that is actually in a position to do anything about it.

While Simmons brushed off the petition and it’s unlikely that he’ll actually be offered the role, Simmons added that he wouldn’t be against the opportunity if it came his way.

Being in those movies with Sam [Raimi] was one of the great joys of my career. It was a super fun character so I’ll never close the door on anything.

While it would be cool to see Simmons in the role once again, the fact that Peter Parker will be returning to high school for quite some time in the planned series makes it unlikely that we’ll see any major focus on the character or The Daily Bugle. We’ll see what happens. Would you like to see Simmons reprise the role? Should they go with someone else? Sound off in the comments section below.
