Jake Johnson and Omar Sy will be returning to the Jurassic World franchise.
First appearing in Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World in 2015, Jake Johnson and Omar Sy were notably missing from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jake Johnson and Omar Sy will be returning to the iconic dinosaur franchise for its third outing, which is also set bring director and writer Colin Trevorrow back.
In the smash-hit Jurassic World, Jake Johnson starred as the sarcastic but still sweet Lowery who worked in the control room. Serving as the film’s side-comic relief, Jake Johnson’s role was met with praise. Seeing as Jurassic World was rightfully disbanded at the end of the film of the same name, it made sense for Jake Johnson’s character not the appear in the sequel Fallen Kingdom. Jake Johnson previously starred in Colin Trevorrow’s debut film Safety Not Guaranteed.
Omar Sy starred as Chris Pratt’s assistant Barry in Jurassic World. In the film, Omar Sy helps care for the raptors alongside Chris Pratt. In addition to helping care and train the raptors, Omar Sy also aided in the film’s climax when it came time to subdue the villainous Indominus Rex. Alongside the main crew, Omar Sy’s Barry also made it safely off the island, though he also wasn’t seen in Fallen Kingdom.
Details are currently slim on how Jake Johnson and Omar Sy’s character fit into Jurassic World 3. At the end of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, all the dinosaurs were unleashed into the wild. The finale teased how dinosaurs and humans must co-exist, which is expected to be the crux of Jurassic World 3.
