James Gunn congratulated Avengers: Endgame star Dave Bautista on being inducted into WWE Hall of Fame.
Today, it was announced that Dave Bautista will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in April 2020. Director James Gunn responded to the news by posting a photo of himself alongside Dave Bautista to congratulate the six-time WWE World Champion on his incredible achievement.
Of course, few fans need to reminded that Dave Bautista’s acting career eventually resulted in him being cast as Drax the Destroyer in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy film series. Most recently, Dave Bautista portrayed Drax in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, which saw the Guardians join forces with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in the war against Thanos.

While production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was scheduled to begin early this year, the project was put on hold following Disney’s decision to remove Gunn as the director of the final chapter in the trilogy. Now, James Gunn will begin production on the third Guardians of the Galaxy film after completing work on The Suicide Squad for Warner Bros. and DC. Details on the third chapter of James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy are currently unknown, though the film will likely explore the ramifications of the universe-changing events in Avengers: Endgame. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is expected to star Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, and Sean Gunn.
