During San Diego Comic-Con, James Gunn gave fans their first glimpse of the new DC Studios logo. The DC Studios co-head shared a behind-the-scenes photo of himself on the set of Superman, wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the design.
“The logo really honors the past beautifully, but also charts the course for the future for us,” DC Studios co-chief Peter Safran told TheWrap. “It represents everything James and I want DC to be, we want to embrace the fans, and we want to chart this course for the future.”
Jim Lee, DC President, Publisher and Chief Creative Officer, added the following:,“For me, there is no better way to celebrate the power of our storytelling, and usher in this new era of creative unity at DC, than bringing this powerful, iconic mark back into the world—back to its rightful place of prominence, on the front covers of everything DC.”
What to expect from James Gunn’s first DC Studios movie, Superman
Superman is a much-anticipated project, given that Clark Kent has been an integral part of the DC Universe for over 80 years, with various iterations and adaptations across different media. The movie promises to explore the character’s origins and his struggles to balance his dual identities as Clark and Superman while fighting off villains and saving the world.
Superman is being written and directed by James Gunn. The movie boasts a star-studded cast that includes David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion as the Guy Gardner version of Green Lantern, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, and many others.
