James Gunn reiterated when fans can expect to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Months after Disney fired James Gunn from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the filmmaker signed on to write and direct a new Suicide Squad film for Warner Bros. and DC. While Disney later reinstated James Gunn as the director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, production on the Marvel Studios film was consequently delayed due to James Gunn’s commitment to The Suicide Squad.

Since them, there has be no official release date for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and fans are eager to learn when they can expect to see the anticipated film in theaters. In response to a fan’s question on the matter on Instagram, James Gunn noted that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will arrive after The Suicide Squad.

Details on the third chapter of James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy are currently unknown, though the film will likely explore the ramifications of the universe-changing events in Avengers: Endgame.
