James Gunn has shared new behind-the-scenes photos of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 cast.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was one of the most highly anticipated solo films to come from the Marvel Cinematic Universe due to the massive success of the first film. Vol. 2 wasn’t met with the same response as Vol. 1, but the film has aged similarly to Iron Man 3 as an underrated entry in the MCU. Once James Gunn finished up with The Suicide Squad, he will return to Marvel Studios and close out his Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy.
While James Gunn continues to put the finishing touches on The Suicide Squad, he has been very active on social media with fans. One fan in particular asked what Gunn’s approach to the rehearsal process was on Twitter. Gunn responded by tweeting out several behind-the-scenes images from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Some of the rehearsal time is taken up just going over lines, and the meaning of a scene, finding our center. This is me, @prattprattpratt, & @zoesaldana discussing their bedroom argument on Ego's planet. pic.twitter.com/Ze6HPq1UcL

How about this one – Ego (Kurt Russell) and his newfound son play ball for the first time? pic.twitter.com/E3qTkJXuJQ

When an actor can't be there (or in this case it wasn't necessary they were there as it was the end of a long scene Kurt Russell wasn't a part of), our co-producer Simon often steps in. Here he is as Ego in the moment of his arrival. 😂 pic.twitter.com/HKA3CEcKwm

While production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was scheduled to begin early this year, the project was put on hold following Disney’s decision to remove James Gunn as the director of the final chapter in the trilogy. Now, Gunn will begin production on the third film after completing work on The Suicide Squad for Warner Bros. and DC, which he is currently editing from the safety from his home due to the ongoing crisis. Details on the third chapter of Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy are currently unknown, though the film will likely explore the ramifications of the universe-changing events in Avengers: Endgame.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is expected to star Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki and Sean Gunn.
