James Gunn’s ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3’ Gets MPAA Rating

Nothing surprising, though!

Disney has confirmed the MPAA rating for the highly-anticipated Marvel Studios release Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The movie, set to hit theaters this May, has officially been given a PG-13 rating for “intense sequences of violence and action, strong language, suggestive/drug references, and thematic elements.”

The PG-13 rating indicates that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be appropriate for most audiences, but may contain content that is not suitable for young children. The rating may come as no surprise to fans of the series, as the previous two films in the franchise were also PG-13.

What to expect from the third Guadians movie

One confirmed aspect of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the return of James Gunn as writer and director. Gunn was originally set to direct the film after the success of the first two Guardians flicks, but was temporarily removed from the project due to controversial tweets that resurfaced from his past. However, after a public outcry from the Guardians cast and fans, Gunn was reinstated on the film. Vol. 3 is his last Marvel movie due to his commitments to DC Studios.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 synopsis reads as follows: “Our beloved band of misfits are settling into life on Knowhere, but it isn’t long before their lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life – a mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.”

Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Sean Gunn, Sylvester Stallone, Will Poulter, Chukwudi Iwuji and Maria Bakalova.
