James Gunn Live Streams ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2’ Scoring Session

James Gunn Guardians of the Galaxy Set Marvel Studios

The score for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 is being recorded this morning and as promised, the film’s director James Gunn live streamed the recording of a cue along with returning Guardians of the Galaxy composer Tyler Bates. The session occurred at the legendary Abbey Road Studios and was conducted by Tim Williams. This is the first time in history the recording of a score has been streamed live on the internet. The cue itself is very emotional and sounds like it could appear towards the end of the second act when all hope is lost. Check it out below!

The James Gunn film stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Glenn Close, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki and Kurt Russell. It’s written and directed by James Gunn.

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 hits theaters May 5, 2017. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding James Gunn and the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
