James Gunn Debunks Rumors Of MCU Reboot Following ‘Avengers 4’

'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' director James Gunn debunks rumors that the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be rebooted after 'Avengers 4'.


After Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige stated that the Marvel Cinematic Universe films may abandon the Phases structure after the fourth Avengers film, rumors began circulating that the MCU would be rebooted after Avengers 4. Now, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn has stated that the rumors are false and explained that the current version of the Guardians will remain the same.

Gunn posted the comments on his official Twitter account in response to a fan’s question on the rumors. When asked if the MCU might be given a “soft” reboot in the form of Secret Wars, Gunn again refuted the rumors.
