‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’: James Gunn Says Rob Zombie Cameos Are His…

James Gunn says the Rob Zombie cameos in his movies are part of his "signature" and Zombie will be back for 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.'

Rob-Zombie-GuardiansFans of James Gunn and Slither may be familiar with a certain cameo by legendary rocker and film producer Rob Zombie. Fans of Gunn and Guardians of the Galaxy may also know that Zombie lent his voice to the Ravager navigation system in the first film and will be lending his voice again in Vol. 2. In fact, Zombie’s cameos in Gunn’s movies are wholly intentional and Gunn says they’re part of his “signature.”

“Rob’s a friend, and he appeared in my first movie, Slither, so now it’s become my signature. But I love putting a lot of stuff in my movies for fans. In Slither, every street sign referenced a classic horror film. There were hundreds of them. I’m in service to those people who want to watch a movie again and again.”

It’s not clear what character Zombie will be voicing in Vol. 2 but you can bet his voice will make its way into the film somehow. You can see Zombie’s original Instagram post when the recording first took place below.

“Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.”

James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 stars Chris Pratt as Peter Quill (a.k.a. Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon, Michael Rooker as Yondu Udonta, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, Glenn Close as Irani Rael, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Elizabeth Debicki as Ayesha, Chris Sullivan as Taserface, Kurt Russell as Ego, Sylvester Stallone, and Michael Rosenbaum.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 opens in theaters on Friday, May 5.
