Less than two months to go!

James Gunn Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3

Total Film has released a new image of Rocket Raccoon from the upcoming Marvel Studios movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been eagerly awaiting any news or details about the upcoming film, and director James Gunn did not disappoint, revealing fresh information about the storyline and character development.

In an interview with Total Film, Gunn discussed how Rocket Raccoon would be the central character in the movie, with the rest of the Guardians following his lead. “The most important thing for me was Rocket’s story, and then, following that, everybody else. Rocket is the secret protagonist of the Guardians of the Galaxy, and has always been the centre of it for me; and this is really fulfilling that,” Gunn said. “The reason I came back, and decided to do this movie, was because I really felt like Rocket’s story needed to be told – and it was left hanging after Vol 2. So that’s the most important thing.”

The latest Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 image of Rocket Raccoon shows the character aboard a space ship, looking fierce and determined. The details of his surroundings and the context of the image are not revealed, leaving fans to speculate about what may be happening in the scene.

The Guardians of the Galaxy director also shared that the movie would be a self-contained story, but still an important part of the trilogy: “It’s also the ending of a trilogy. The first movie is about the mother; the second movie is about the father; and the third movie is about the self. And that is what this journey is,” he explained. This suggests that the film will be a fitting conclusion to the Guardians of the Galaxy series, bringing together all the character arcs and storylines in a satisfying way.

What to expect from the third Guadians movie

One confirmed aspect of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the return of James Gunn as writer and director. Gunn was originally set to direct the film after the success of the first two Guardians flicks, but was temporarily removed from the project due to controversial tweets that resurfaced from his past. However, after a public outcry from the Guardians cast and fans, Gunn was reinstated on the film. Vol. 3 is his last Marvel movie due to his commitments to DC Studios.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 synopsis reads as follows: “Our beloved band of misfits are settling into life on Knowhere, but it isn’t long before their lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life – a mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.”

Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Sean Gunn, Sylvester Stallone, Will Poulter, Chukwudi Iwuji and Maria Bakalova.
