James Gunn is already well on his way to putting together the soundtrack for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. A fan on Twitter asked the director how close he is to finalizing the soundtrack for the third movie and he said that he has “it down to 181 songs.” Gunn also teased that the list “could get longer.”

There is no word yet on what the plans for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 are in terms of story, but James Gunn is already planning the soundtrack and this probably means he has ideas on how these songs will mesh with the scenes.
Right now, you can still enjoy Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which stars Chris Pratt as Peter Quill (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Elizabeth Debicki as Ayesha, and Kurt Russell as Ego. Many of these same characters are set to appear in Avengers: Infinity War, its sequel, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3.
Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is in theaters now.
