James Gunn recently talked more about The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special coming to Disney Plus later this year.
James Gunn has been incredibly busy as of late, operating in the worlds of DC and Marvel. Following his work on DC’s Peacemaker, Gunn is currently shooting Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and while that film will mark the end of the trilogy, they are also shooting a Holiday Special for Disney Plus that will arrive later this year.
James Gunn previously teased the Holiday Special will feature “one of the greatest MCU characters of all-time.” In a recent interview with Radio Times, Gunn has now called the upcoming Holiday Special one of the best projects he’s ever worked on:
“The Holiday Special is the greatest thing I’ve ever done in my life. It’s totally ridiculous, and every day we can’t believe that we’re making it. We all completely love it. It is unlike anything that anyone’s ever seen before. I can’t wait for people to see it. And it’s out pretty soon. You know, it’s out this Christmas. It’s not like people have to wait that long.”
The team last appeared in Avengers: Endgame. Here is the film’s synopsis:
