James Mangold Says He ‘Will Work’ With Hugh Jackman Again

'Logan' director James Mangold says that he "will work" with Hugh Jackman again. Also discusses wanting to make X-23 movie.

Director James Mangold knows that Hugh Jackman will not be playing Wolverine any longer, with Logan being his last portrayal of the character he began playing in 2000, but he’s positive that he and the Australian actor will cross paths again.

“I definitely know that Hugh and I will work together again.”

Mangold has worked with Jackman a couple of times now and the two seem to have a great rapport and obviously enjoy working with each other. So it’s not surprising that Mangold wants to work with the Logan actor again in the future.

Even though it might not happen right away, if at all, Mangold would definitely be up for making another comic book movie. This time, though, he’d want to make a whole film about X-23, a character who will first appear in next month’s Logan.

“I would love to see an X-23 film and that is something I would definitely be involved with.”

This is just wishful thinking as there is no confirmation that a film about X-23 will even happen.

In the near future, a weary Logan (Hugh Jackman) cares for an ailing Professor X (Patrick Stewart) in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young Mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.

Logan stars Hugh Jackman Logan, Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier, Boyd Holbrook as Donald Pierce, Richard E. Grant as Zander Rice, Stephen Merchant as Caliban, and Dafne Keen as Laura Kinney (X-23).

The film hits theaters on March 3, 2017.
