Expect To See Sea Monsters In ‘Aquaman’

We got a glimpse of Jason Momoa as Aquaman in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but his standalone movie is currently a couple of years away from its release date. It will be helmed by James Wan, who has directed numerous awesome horror movies in the past, meaning that we’re probably going to see some creepy stuff in the movie.

In a recent interview with Slashfilm at Wondercon, Wan talked about how he’s looking forward to creating the world of Aquaman, plus plenty of sea monsters and creatures that we’re going to meet in the movie:

“I think, like most people, we are familiar with Aquaman. We grew up reading or watching this character on the peripheral. I was never so in depth with Aquaman as, let’s say, I was with X-Men. I grew up loving X-Men, Spider-Man and Batman. Those are obviously the key big ones, but there’s always something kind of cool about Aquaman still, the idea of creating a huge world that is on our planet. That’s the thing about Aquaman that’s cool is he’s not an alien, right? He’s from our planet and he’s from a society that we’re not privy to in the context of the story. Isn’t it crazy to think that we’ve explored space more than we have explored the depths of our ocean? That just fires up my imagination about potential sea monsters and cool creatures, that kind of stuff.”

The Trench are the first thing that come to mind when you think of Aquaman and sea monsters, but we might also see plenty of other original creatures in the movie. I for one can’t wait to see what Wan has in store for us. What about you guys? Sound-off your thoughts in the comment section below.
