Morbius arrives on April Fool's.

Jared Leto’s upcoming cinematic stint as Morbius has received a brand new poster.

Morbius is on track to hit cinemas on April 1st… for now. Originally set to debut on July 10, 2020, the Sony Pictures-produced Marvel film has been delayed several times, most recently as early as this year. The film stars Jared Leto as Dr. Michael Morbius, who ends up becoming a vampire after he tries to cure a rare blood disease with bats.

As insane as that sounds, the first few trailers we’ve seen have been shockingly good, teasing a superhero film that blends high-octane action with dread and horror. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Doctor Who‘s Matt Smith, Fast and Furious‘ Tyrese Gibson, and Mad Men star Jared Harris. The poster also features Adria Arjona, who is set to play Morbius’ fiance and fellow scientist.

Michael Keaton, who is expected to reprise his role as Adrian Toomes from Spider-Man: Homecoming is notably missing from the poster. Details on Keaton’s appearance have been slim, with many likening his performance to a mere cameo that bridges Morbius to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Here is the synopsis for Jared Leto’s Morbius:

One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed and transforms this healer into a hunter.

Directed Daniel Espinosa from a script written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, the film stars Jared Leto as the lead anti-hero, Adria Arjona, Matt Smith, Jared Harris, and Tyrese Gibson. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing the project with Lucas Foster, while Palak Patel will oversee for Sony.

Morbius is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on April 1, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the Jared Leto film, Sony’s Marvel Universe, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content!
