Jason Momoa’s ‘Aquaman’ Sequel Will Begin Filming Early 2021

Warner Bros. and DC are hoping to begin production on Jason Momoa’s Aquaman sequel in 2021.

After making his first full appearance as Arthur Curry in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Jason Momoa took the lead in 2018’s standalone Aquaman film from director James Wan. Upon its release, Aquaman proved to be a box office hit, crossing the $1 billion mark and becoming the highest-grossing film based on a DC character.

It wasn’t long before Warner Bros. moved began development on a sequel to Jason Momoa’s Aquaman and enlisted David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick to pen the script. Now, Variety reports Warner Bros. and DC are hoping to begin production on Aquaman 2 with Jason Momoa in early 2021.

From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an acition-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.

Aquaman is available on Digital HD, 4K UHD Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, and DVD.
