Jason Momoa Celebrates ‘Aquaman’ Joining The Billion Dollar Club

Permission to come aboard? No longer just the DC character known for talking to fishes, Aquaman has just passed the $1 billion mark in his recent film. And main star Jason Momoa took to social media to thanks the fans, crew, and Zack Snyder for the momentous achievement.

On his Instagram page yesterday, Jason Momoa began with “BILLION DOLLAR UNDERDOG” before referencing the fact that for so long, Aquaman has been disrespected as a character. And to go from that to a billion dollar movie could not have been done without the fans. With that, Momoa attributed his success to the fans, to director James Wan, everyone who had a hand in making the film, and to Zack Snyder for casting him in the role to begin with back in Batman v Superman. Also, included in Momoa’s hastags with this post was #aquaman2. Interesting.

Here, have a look at Jason Momoa celebrating Aquaman’s achievement in the post below:

Even though Aquaman has passed the billion dollar mark, the film is still in theaters and has yet to release in some territories like Japan. So just how high could it go? Do you believe that it could end up passing other comic films by the time its theatrical run ends? It’s already topped The Dark Knight Rises, so what comic movies could Arthur Curry look to swim past next?

More than that, given the film’s achievements, what do you believe could come to pass in a potential Aquaman sequel? Let us know your thoughts on this and Jason Momoa’s thanks to the fans in the comments below.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Nicole Kidman.

Aquaman is now playing in theaters.
