One of the biggest debates after Avengers: Infinity War was who could defeat Thanos. The first hero to be speculated after the movie was Captain Marvel considering she was the one who Nick Fury paged in the post-credit scene.
However, fans have recently taken to Twitter to say that X-Men character Jean Grey would actually be a more formidable opponent for the one who holds the Infinity Gauntlet. Here’s what they had to say:
jean grey could look at thanos and he would die thats how powerful she is

the only way i’ll be okay with bringing x men into the mcu is if they bring jean grey and make her wipe out thanos like she did with apocalypse.

Jean Grey is perhaps the strongest mutant in the Marvel universe, with the highest level of telekinesis ability and a very strong telepath. In Infinity war, its shown by Mantis that Thanos has a weakness to psycho powers. Jean Grey would capitalize on that weakness and make light of him. Not to mention, at Jean Grey’s height of power she becomes the Phoenix, a very powerful alter-ego of Jean. For the moment, this is all speculation until the deal between Fox and Disney becomes finalized, which looks even dimmer since Comcast has proposed more than Disney’s original offer to Fox.
But what do you think? Could Jean Grey destroy Thanos worse than Captain Marvel will in Avengers 4?
Avengers: Infinity War is now playing in theaters. The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Sebastian Stan, Chadwick Boseman, Benedict Wong, Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Tom Hiddleston, Benicio Del Toro, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, Terry Notary, Carrie Coon, and Josh Brolin. Here’s the official synopsis:
As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.
The currently-untitled Avengers 4 features a cast made up of many of the key players in Infinity War — alongside returning actors Jeremy Renner, Paul Rudd, and Evangeline Lilly, and newcomers like Brie Larson, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Emma Fuhrmann — and is scheduled to hit theaters on May 3, 2019.
