Patty Jenkins Confirms Ann Wolfe As Artemis For ‘Wonder Woman’

Ann Wolfe Wonder Woman ArtemisLast April, fans were treated to the above photo of the Wonder Woman cast, leaving everyone to speculate who Ann Wolfe(right) was playing. Nearly a year later, Patty Jenkins finally reveals her role as that of Artemis on Twitter.

Artemis of Bana-Mighdall is an insanely strong, crossbow touting warrior who is an ally of the Amazonians. She first appeared in September 1994 during Wonder Woman issue 90.

“The legend [Ann Wolfe] is our Artemis!! Who else should be one of the greatest warrior Amazons, but the best female boxer in history.”

Since speculation had her penned as Alcippe, it is good that we have cleared up who Wolfe is playing just months before the release of the film.

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

Wonder Woman will arrive in theaters on June 2nd, 2017.

Defining Quotes From The DC Extended Universe

DC Extended UniverseEarlier this week, we here at Heroic Hollywood gave the 20 defining quotes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not to be outdone, we also wanted to take a look at the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) and some of the best dialogue/monologues within their films that have so far helped shape their cinematic universe.

Now keep in mind, the DCEU is still in its sophomoric phase. There are only three films in the can — Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad — so we’re going to try our best and refrain from the usual “Marvel vs DC” trope. The films in the DC Extended Universe have their share of highlights and great moments that do a great job at bringing some of our all-time favorite comic book characters to the big screen (and even introducing us to new ones). This list will be strictly for the DCEU, and not feature unconnected films or DC TV shows (Sorry animated movies, Nolan-verse, Arrow-verse and Gotham, maybe we’ll take a look at those as well).

Here are a few of the top DC Extended Universe quotes. Click Next to see…
