Could Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye get his own series?
Netflix has picked up a lot of Marvel shows. Starting with Daredevil and working its way up to The Defenders, one could argue that the superhero shows on the streaming service are far more fleshed out story and character-wise than any film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
While promoting his latest film, Arrival, in theaters November 11, Renner was asked by IGN on whether or not he’d be down to do a Netflix series involving around Hawkeye.
“I don’t know the practicality of that, but I always love, any of these characters that I play, I love to dig into them more. I never feel like I get enough time with any of the characters I play, and that’s one of them.”
It’s interesting that this question keeps getting tossed around about whether or not Hawkeye could have his own series. Renner sounds like he’d be interested in it though, at least in terms of continuing to delve into his character.
It’d be far more intriguing to see him in a guest spot on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. where he could be more developed and instead give Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow a series or solo film.
Renner will next be seen as Hawkeye in Avengers: Infinity War, which will be in theaters May 4, 2018.
