One character that is constantly getting upgraded equipment throughout the course of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton aka ‘Hawkeye’. I mean, you kind of need to when you just a guy with a bow and arrows taking on superpowered individuals and killer robots. Don’t get me wrong though, Clint Barton is still a bad-ass though.
We’ve seen the new suit that his character will sport in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War and according to Renner, that’s not the only upgrade to expect. While speaking with ScreenRant, Renner commented on his new suit & equipment as well as seemingly revealing another weapon he might use in the film.
Yeah there’s always something different. He’s still limited to what he can do – ya know, no super powers, just a high skill set. But they have a cool thing – this time I learn very quickly… um, bow. ‘Cause in the first Avengers he had that short bow that cracks open, and then I can crack and close with a staff. So now I’m a master with a staff apparently. I have to learn that today. [laughter]
So there’s that, and then there’s always things you can do with the tips. Except for this, what they call the arrow tips, they’ll all be non-lethal cause again we’re not trying kill anybody, just sort of take control of the situation. They’ll probably throw in a lot of gimmicks with the tips and trick arrows, and things like that. And ya the new, cool… I love this costume the most of them all so far, the one I’ve got. It’s got a cool vibe to it. Very very very cool. I like it – it’s very comfortable. I’m still hot, but it’s fantastic, I love it. And it’s got cooler colors… I like it.
While I’m sure he’s going to have plenty of cool trick arrows, pretty certain the one we’re all looking forward to seeing features a “small” addition from his team on it. Right? Let us know what you think about Renner’s comments in the section below.
Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.
