‘Jessica Jones’ & ‘The Punisher’ Not Expected To Return At Netflix

Jessica Jones Punisher Marvel NetflixA new report by Deadline reveals that Netflix is not expected to renew Marvel’s Jessica Jones or The Punisher.

After Netflix canceled Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Daredevil, fans began to suspect that The Punisher and Jessica Jones would meet the same fate after their respective new seasons debuted on the streaming service. While stressing there has been no official word on the future of the two remaining Marvel/Netflix shows, Deadline noted that neither series is expected to be renewed for future seasons:

The expectation is neither the Jon Bernthal vigilante series or the Krysten Ritter-led Jones will be renewed for further cycles – though nothing has been said officially, yet.

The third season of Jessica Jones is expected to debut this summer while fans can watch the second season of The Punisher right now.

Former marine-turned-vigilante Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) has been living a quiet life on the road until he suddenly becomes embroiled in the attempted murder of a young girl (Giorgia Whigham). As he is drawn into the mystery surrounding her and those in pursuit of the information she holds, Castle attracts a new target on his back as new and old enemies force him to confront whether he should accept his destiny and embrace a life as “The Punisher.

The Punisher season 2 stars Jon Bernthal, Ben Barnes, Amber Rose Revah, Jason R. Moore, Deborah Ann Woll, Josh Stewart, Floriana Lima, Giorgia Whigham, Corbin Bernsen, and Annette O’Toole.

The Punisher season 2 is now available on Netflix.

Marvel’s Netflix Heroes, Ranked From Worst To Best

Marvel Netflix Jessica Jones Luke Cage Daredevil Iron FistMarvel has been using Netflix to great effect. Taking full advantage of the digital platform and the untethered storytelling it allows creators to offer, Marvel has been taking iconic comic book characters such as Daredevil and Iron Fist and showing them in a new light over the past few years on Netflix.

The studio’s efforts have taken the heroes (and sometimes even the anti-heroes) of the Netflix corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in different directions through 13-part adventures, diving more into what makes them tick than the films. For the most part, these characters have been well thought out and the actors inhibating the roles have done a great job making them their own.

Of course, The Defenders is the culmination of what Marvel has been working towards with these shows. Arriving later this month, the 8-episode series is set to unite Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist against a threat greater than anything they’ve faced before.

With the series only a few days away it is a great time to look at each of the Netflix heroes and see where they rank from worst to best. Click next to have a look!
