Joaquin Phoenix & Lady Gaga Featured In Stunning ‘Joker 2’ Valentine’s Day Photos

Joker and Harley Quinn unite!

Joker: Folie à Deux helmer Todd Phillips gave fans a Valentine’s Day gift by unveiling new images from the highly-anticipated DC sequel. Through his Instagram, Phillips provided a sneak peek into the world of Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker, now joined by Lady Gaga’s portrayal of the iconic DC Comics villain Harley Quinn.

Released on a day celebrating love, the Joker: Folie à Deux images offer a glimpse into the sequel’s direction, which promises to delve into a complex love affair between The Joker and Harley Quinn. The filmmaker captioned the post with the words: “Hoping your day is full of love. In the comments section of the Instagram post, Phillips further excited fans by teasing that the first trailer for the movie is set to premiere in mid-April.

Joker: Folie à Deux has been deep in post-production, gearing up for its theatrical release on October 4, 2024. This sequel stands as the sole DC film set to grace cinemas this year, marking a significant moment before the transition to James Gunn and Peter Safran’s reimagined DC Universe, which will officially kick off with Superman: Legacy in July 2025.

What can audiences expect from the Joker sequel?

After the first film ended with Arthur Fleck in Arkham State Hospital, it’s likely that – as in previous iterations – Harleen Quinzel will start out as the Joker’s psychiatrist. Plot details are being kept under wraps but a significant chunk of the sequel is expected to take place within Arkham.

Todd Phillips is directing Joker: Folie à Deux from a script he co-wrote alongside Scott Silver, who also worked on the original. The cast of Folie à Deux also features Brendan Gleeson, Zazie Beetz, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland and Harry Lawtey.

The first Joker movie is currently available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD and digital formats. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the sequel and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
