Joe Manganiello Sports Legion Of Doom Shirt With ‘Justice League’ Font

Batman Joe Manganiello Deathstroke ArrowInitially cast as the mercenary and assassin named Deathstroke in Ben Affleck’s solo Batman film, Joe Manganiello’s future in the DC Extended Universe has been uncertain ever since Affleck stepped down as director and was replaced by Matt Reeves. Now, Manganiello has shared a new photo on his official Twitter account that will likely fuel speculation on what Deathstroke’s future – if any – in the DCEU will be moving forward.

Although Joe Manganiello was set to portray the DC Comics villain in the standalone Batman film, director Matt Reeves confirmed that the project would be starting over with a new story after Ben Affleck stepped out of the director’s chair. To date, there has been no official word on whether or not Deathstroke will still appear in the film or any other DCEU project, leaving fans to speculate for themselves. Now, Joe Manganiello has shared a photograph where he can be seen wearing a “Legion of Doom” t-shirt with the same font as the Justice League movie title.

Of course, comics book fans know that the Legion of Doom is a team of supervillains that has consisted of various members of DC Comics’ rogues gallery through the years. A number of fans have already begun wondering if the t-shirt signifies that Deathstroke could appear as a member of the sinister team in a future DCEU film, although this is merely speculation at this point.

But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Amber Heard, Jeremy Irons, J.K. Simmons, Willem Dafoe, Connie Nielsen, Julian Lewis Jones and Ciarán Hinds.

5 Greatest Batman Comic Book Crossovers

Previous1 of 6

Batman Teenage Mutant Ninja TurtlesBatman is one of DC’s most versatile characters. He fits well in dark stories like The Killing Joke just as much as he does in campy stories like Batman ’66. Not only does he fit well in every corner of the DC Universe, fighting alongside the Justice League on Earth or taking on Darkseid on Apokolips, but he also fits in different comic book universes.

Over the character’s long history, there have been multiple crossovers that have taken the Caped Crusader to new lands. He’s gone up against everyone from the Punisher to the Predator and even fought alongside fan favorite characters like The Spirit and Hellboy. No matter where he goes, Batman is still a great character who can handle himself no matter where he ends up. Batman has scared enough people in the DC Universe and Bruce Wayne has seduced enough young ladies, so it only makes sense that he expands his reach every once in a while.
