John Barrowman Promoted To Series Regular Across All CW DC TV Shows

Arrow John Barrowman

Remember when Wentworth Miller, who plays Captain Cold on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, exited the series as a series regular after one season, immediately followed with a new deal which would allow him to recur on that show as well as The Flash? Well it looks like it’s happening again with another CW actor in the DC TV Universe as TV Line is reporting that John Barrowman, who plays Malcolm Merlyn a.k.a. the Dark Archer, has signed a new contract where he will be a series regular on not just Arrow, but also Legends of Tomorrow and The Flash.

No specific plot details were revealed for Malcolm’s arc on either of the three shows and while Supergirl is moving to The CW, it doesn’t look like he is joining the Girl of Steel as a series regular. More details will most likely be revealed at San Diego Comic-Con which is in just two weeks, where both Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl will be present. It had been reported a few weeks ago that Barrowman’s deal with Arrow as a series regular was still being worked at.

The Flash Season 3 will race in on Tuesday, October 4, Arrow Season 5 will start on Wednesday, October 5, Supergirl Season 2 will begin on Tuesday, October 10 and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 will kick-off on Thursday, October 13, all at 8/7c on The CW respectively. I’m perfectly fine with that.

The head of an ancient order of assassins who built a business empire, bedded Moira Queen, is prone to mass destruction, and betrays those closest to him, yet somehow has no mystery about him. I think CW needs less Malcom Merlyn for a little while.
