John Boyega thinks the next Superman should be Rege-Jean Page or Jonathan Majors.
Warner Bros. is teaming up with producer J. J. Abrams and writer Ta-Nehisi Coates to bring a new Superman project to life. Set to be a complete reboot, the film is still actively looking for a director, though rumors suggest Barry Jenkins and Regina King are at the top of WB’s list. While the Superman reboot is still in the early stages, fans both on and off the screen are already speculating as to who the next Son of Krypton will be. John Boyega, best known as Finn from Star Wars and self-attested pop culture aficionado, believes that the role of Superman should go to Rege-Jean Page or Jonathan Majors.
The conversation came about during a THR Emmy roundtable discussion between John Boyega, Jonathan Majors, Rege-Jean Page, Chris Rock, and Josh O’Connor. The moderator asked the actors who they wish Hollywood cast them as. Boyega quickly chimed in, saying that he’d love to see Bridgerton’s Rege-Jean Pagesee or Lovecraft Country and Ant-Man 3′s Jonathan Majors in the role of Superman.
“I want brother Regé as Superman. Or Jonathan. I want one of you guys to just go in there and fly. Just someone with knotted hair, fly.”
Do you think Rege-Jean Page or Jonathan Majors would make for a good Superman? Or would you like to see John Boyega in the role? Comment below and let us know!
Superman was last seen in The Snyder Cut. Here is the synopsis for Zack Snyder’s Justice League:
“In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.”
The Snyder Cut stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, JK Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
