“Is Die Hard a Christmas movie?” The same refrain echoes through film buff’s social media feed every year during the holiday season. Just this week, the debate was finally settled, with the screenwriter of the original film saying that yes, indeed, the film is a Christmas movie. Without this annual Die Hard debate to ponder, what will be the next big movie theory that gets fans talking? Fortunately, John Mayer has a Batman related solution.
On his Twitter account, John Mayer noted the end of the Die Hard debate and proposed a new theory: that the Ben Affleck film The Accountant is secretly masquerading as a Batman movie.
Mayer goes on to share the details of this theory, that it’s, in fact, a Bruce Wayne origin story. He discusses the fact that both Ben Affleck characters have a background in business and fighting, had a parent shot, have ample space to create a Bat-cave, being rich, and more.
You can check out the Tweet for yourself below:
Here we go: it’s a Bruce Wayne origin story. We see that he is both trained in fighting and accounting. His father was shot. His trailer/storage space is the first bat-cave. He is beginning to acquire great wealth. His brother will become his arch nemesis.

While its definitely a fun fan theory to think about, one highly doubts there is indeed a unifying Ben Affleck movie theory. What do you think, is The Accountant actually a secret Batman origin film? Sound off in the comments below!
