Johnny Depp Denies Slapping ‘Aquaman’ Star Amber Heard Over Tattoo Joke

The ongoing legal battles between Johnny Depp and Aquaman star 'Amber Heard' continue to heat up.

Johnny Depp has denied slapping Amber Heard over a joke the Aquaman actress made regarding his tattoo in March of 2013.

Last year Johnny Depp filed a $50M defamation suit against his former wife Amber Heard. Johnny Depp is also suing the London based new group, The Sun for publishing a story where Amber Heard called Johnny Depp a wife beater. Earlier today, the actor was questioned over an alleged incident that happened back in March of 2013.

During the incident in question, Johnny Depp began to drink heavily after being sober for 160 days. Amber Heard then made a comment about Johnny Depp’s tattoo that said “Wino Forever”, prompting him to begin beating his then-wife. Defense attorney Sasha Wass brought up this incident painted a picture of an actor with a violent temper:

“You slapped her more than once, because after you slapped her the first time, she didn’t react. She just eyeballed you, she just stared at you, and that made you more angry and you slapped her again.”

In response, Johnny Depp simply denied the allegations:

“That is patently untrue.”

He went on to say that the lawyer was mistaken:

“I’m sorry, but that is not true. You are mistaken.”
