A new video purportedly from the set of Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker features the Batmobile being transported to a filming location.
A video from YouTube user THEMAJESTIRIUM1 reveals a Batmobile with a similar design to that of the classic vehicle driven by Adam West in the 1960s Batman television series. The Caped Crusader’s ride of choice is allegedly being driven to a Newark, New Jersey location where the Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker is currently shooting.
The inclusion of the Batman may come as a surprise to some considering Brett Cullen has been cast as Thomas Wayne, who is reportedly running for Mayor in Gotham in Joker, which would suggest that the film is set before Bruce Wayne becomes the Dark Knight. While Joker could include flashforward scenes or take a page from the Flashpoint comic story, in which Thomas Wayne becomes Batman following the death of Bruce Wayne, the classic Batmobile could also be en route to a completely unrelated location with a coincidental detour through the Joker set. Of course, until there is an official confirmation, this all remains purely speculative.

“Joker” centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck (Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale.
Directed by Todd Phillips from a script he co-wrote with Scott Silver, Joker stars Joaquin Phoenix, Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais, and Shea Whigham.
Joker will be released in theaters on October 4, 2019.
